Workshop policies and how we handle your details
Potimel keeps a short, plain-language set of policies covering privacy, the terms that apply when you order furniture, and the handful of cookies this site uses. Every page below is written for customers of our Surry Hills workshop rather than copied from a template, so if something reads oddly or you cannot find an answer, call the workshop on +61 2 8412 6739 or send a note to potimel@hotmail.com and we will explain it in person.

Who we are
Potimel is a furniture workshop at 110 Kippax Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010. We build custom wardrobes and solid timber tables, and we run this website at potimel.com. This policy covers what we do with your personal information when you call us, email us, send the enquiry form or place an order.

What we collect
We only ask for what a quote or a build actually needs. Depending on how you contact us, that may include:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The address where the furniture will be installed or delivered
- Photos and measurements of the room you send us
- Notes from a site measure, including wall sizes and any access issues
- Payment and invoice records for orders you place
We do not collect payment card details through this website. Card payments are taken in person or through our bank's payment link.
Why we hold it
Your details are used to prepare a quote, arrange a measure, build and deliver your order, and handle warranty claims afterwards. We also keep invoices for the period Australian tax law requires, which is currently five years.
If you have asked to hear from us, we use your email to send occasional workshop news. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from the list straight away.
Who else sees it
We share the minimum needed with the people who help us finish a job: the courier or removalist delivering your furniture, our accountant, and our bookkeeping software. They are not allowed to use your details for anything else.
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers. If a government agency or court requires it, we will hand over what is legally requested.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep. Write to potimel@hotmail.com and we will respond within thirty days.

- Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you think we have handled your data badly
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we update this page and change the date at the top. The current version always applies from the day it is published.

Reading a policy only gets you so far. The workshop is open Monday to Friday, and you are welcome to drop in, look at the timber rack and ask how a build actually works before you commit to a quote.
