Potimel takes enquiries by phone and email from a workshop on Kippax Street in Surry Hills, and every message is read by someone who builds the furniture rather than a front desk. Send a photo of the room, a rough size and what you want to keep in it, and you will get an honest answer about whether we are the right shop for the job.

If you would rather stand in front of the timber, come down between 7:30 and 4:00 on a weekday. Ring first so nobody is mid-cut with earmuffs on.

Everything you need before you call

Worth knowing in advance, so the first conversation gets straight to the point instead of covering the basics.

Workshop hours Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Saturdays by appointment only, usually for people who cannot get away midweek.
Site measure visits Across greater Sydney. Usually booked within five working days of the first call, earlier if the job is small.
Lead times Four to six weeks from approved drawing. Two to three of those weeks are build time in the shop.
Access and strata If your building needs a lift booking or a loading dock slot, send the strata contact and we will sort the paperwork.

We build custom fitted wardrobes and solid timber dining tables. Anything else gets a polite no and, where we can, a recommendation for someone who does it properly. Our two services are worth a read before you ring, so you know roughly what the scope looks like.

By train Eight minutes on foot from Central Station, Eddy Avenue exit. Turn down Kippax and keep going past the corner cafe.
By car Two-hour metered parking on Kippax Street, and a secure car park off Elizabeth Street if you are staying longer.
On arrival Come through the roller door rather than the office door. If it is down, knock loud. The saw is usually running.

Yes, within greater Sydney. We come out, template the space, and leave you with a drawing and a fixed price. There is no charge and no obligation to go ahead, though we do ask that you let us know either way within a couple of weeks.

Please do, but add a rough width across the wall and the ceiling height if you can. Photos tell us what the room looks like. Numbers tell us whether the job is possible. Both together mean we can give you a useful answer on the first reply.

Occasionally, for dining tables as far as the Central Coast and the Blue Mountains. Wardrobes need an install visit, so they stay inside the metro area. Ring and we will tell you straight rather than pretending it is easy.
