Workshop policies and how we handle your details
Potimel keeps a short, plain-language set of policies covering privacy, the terms that apply when you order furniture, and the handful of cookies this site uses. Every page below is written for customers of our Surry Hills workshop rather than copied from a template, so if something reads oddly or you cannot find an answer, call the workshop on +61 2 8412 6739 or send a note to potimel@hotmail.com and we will explain it in person.
Questions about a policy
If you need a copy of the information we hold about you, or want to change how we contact you, these are the direct routes to the workshop.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website leaves on your device so it can remember something between visits. Potimel uses very few of them. Nothing here tracks you across other websites.
The cookies we set
This site sets one cookie for your consent choice, so the banner does not appear on every page load. It contains only the word accepted or declined, and it stays for twelve months.
- cookie-choice stores your banner decision for twelve months
- session keeps a form working while you fill it in, and expires when you close the browser
Analytics
We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that counts page views without setting a tracking cookie and without recording your full IP address. If you decline cookies, the banner is hidden and this counting continues in the same anonymous way.
Managing cookies yourself
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking ours will not stop you browsing the site, although the consent banner may come back each time you visit. Look under privacy or site data in your browser menu.
Third party content
Pages with a map embed load content from Google, which may set its own cookies once the map is displayed. We do not control those cookies. Google's own policy explains what they do with them.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, email potimel@hotmail.com and we will explain how the specific cookie works.
Come and see how the workshop runs
Reading a policy only gets you so far. The workshop is open Monday to Friday, and you are welcome to drop in, look at the timber rack and ask how a build actually works before you commit to a quote.
